Chef Manuel Hofer

The love for cooking is a tradition in the Gourmet Alpin Hotel Sonnleiten right at the Klausberg ski resort.

Owner and chef Manuel Hofer inherited the love and passion for cooking from his mother Martha. Already very early in his career, his curiosity and desire to learn took him to the kitchens of internationally acclaimed chefs – such as Martin Dalsass, the so called “Pope of Olive Oil“, who has already earned his first Michelin star. No wonder you can find a “Chocolate mousse with olive oil“ in the Gourmet Alpin Hotel Sonnleiten menu.

Manuel became familiar with South Tyrolean, but also with French-Mediterranean cuisine, worked in the German and the Italian parts of Switzerland, went to Rome and worked at the well-known Kristallalm in Klausberg for years after his return to South Tyrol.
At the family estate, the Gourmet Alpin Hotel Sonnleiten, he aspires to put his very special and distinctive mark on the traditional Ahrntal/Valle Aurina cuisine.
