Gourmet Cuisine for Connoisseurs
Traditional Ahrntal/Valle Aurina dishes are re-invented in our restaurant “Vïta“.
“Vita“ is the Italian word for “Life“. We named the restaurant area at the Gourmet Alpin Hotel Sonnleiten “Vita“ because every dish we serve to you is supposed to taste like life at its best: diverse, surprising, expertly prepared and enhanced by new ideas, in the end a delightful memory.
Owner and chef Manuel loves the authentic Ahrntal/Valle Aurina cuisine with its clear lines, where the individual products are accentuated and at the same time meld into one harmonic flavor. Manuel prefers to incorporate local products into his cuisine, such as lettuce and vegetables from our own garden, herbs from the mountains. The meals are prepared like in grandmother’s days, their seasoning clearly shows the Mediterranean influences which were introduced to South Tyrol about a century ago. The meals are served in the newly renovated restaurant area, which is connected to the lounge with a beautiful old wooden ceiling and an open fireplace (effect fire).
Special dishes, such as our hemp tagliatelle with Ahrntaler Graukäse (Ahrntaler Gray Cheese) and Schüttelbrot (Tyrolean flat bread), are served on handmade pine plates, which make our philosophy of a clear, honest and flavorful cuisine more tangible.
