Fun on the slopes and in the snow – a dream for all winter sports enthusiasts

Some people have to go a long way to find happiness in the mountains. You on the other hand can find the winter paradise of the Aurina Valley, in the Klausberg ski area, right on our doorstep. Early in the morning, at breakfast, all you have to do is look out of the window over your cup of coffee to check out the slopes. But even away from the ski slopes, you can still expect unforgettable adventures in the snow.

Mountains

Do you love the winter? Does it give you a thrill to see the first flakes of snow? If you could choose where to spend your days, would you say a thousand times in the snow? Does the very thought of racing down the ski slopes give you a shiver of excitement? So, what are you waiting for: immerse yourself in the Skiworld of the Aurina Valley!

The Skiworld of the Aurina Valley

What could be better: off with the pyjamas, into your jacket and onto your skis, and then away you go! You reach the cable car station in barely a minute. And then? Your adventure on the slopes of the Klausberg can begin. Together with those of Speikboden (10 km away) and the ski lifts of Riobianco and Riva di Tures, they form the Skiworld of the Aurina Valley. For you it means, in numbers: 1 ski pass, 86 km of slopes, 21 ski lifts, 100% fun!

The highlights of the Klausberg:

  • “Funtaklaus” Snowpark
  • “Klausbergflitzer” Alpine Coaster
  • Dino-Fun-Line with life-size dinosaurs
  • Bully-Ride – aboard a snowmobile (by reservation)
  • 5 km toboggan run (every Tuesday with night lighting)

Ski mountaineering

The Valleys of Tures and Aurina are a haven for lovers of ski mountaineering – peaks over 3,000 metres with breathtaking views, but also many peaks of 2,000 m that promise much in the way of excitement. Some tips: the tour of medium difficulty on the Cima del Vento / Ahrner Kopf (3,051 m) in Predoi, the slightly easier one on the Schientalkopf (2,773 m) in Casere, and many others. The Klausberg also offers an experience not to be missed: every Thursday evening* from 6.00 pm until late at night, the “Hexenschuss” slope is reserved exclusively for ski mountaineering enthusiasts!
*Subject to change. However, always enquire at the tourist office about the current conditions.

Snowshoe hiking

Do you like to feel the snow crunching under your feet and savour the magical silence away from the slopes, in the midst of beautiful nature? Here are the loveliest snowshoe hikes in the Aurina Valley for you:
tour on the Speikboden (Campo Tures), snowshoeing to the Samhütte mountain hut (San Pietro), tour to the Bizat mountain hut (Cadipietra) and many others.

Any other suggestions?

  • For keen and expert mountaineers: The Sasso Nero (3,369 m) and Monte Lovello (3,382 m) are both part of the 80 three-thousanders of the Aurina Valley and are among the most beautiful glaciers in the region.
  • For keen hikers who like new and exciting experiences: the “Sun Trail” crosses the Aurina Valley in stages at an altitude between 1,000 and 1,335 metres between Lutago and San Pietro, with the possibility of stopping along the way at various points.
  • For families with children who love to walk: the interactive witches trail, which takes an hour and a half and features a large witch’s chair, bear cave and waterfall, leads from San Giovanni to the friendly Bizat mountain hut (1,416 m). Here you can grab some refreshment, have fun in the playground, and visit a petting zoo.
  • For big and small explorers – and particularly those who love excitement: directly opposite is the Klausberg adventure mountain, a great place to go skiing in winter but also with much to offer in the summer. Things to see and do include: the “Klausberg Flitzer” Alpine Coaster, the zipline, the small lake of Chiusetta, the Family Park with the aquatic world, the Balance Parcours, Dinoland, the hiking trail and much more.
